Happy New Year - New Year Bleigiessen - symbols of happiness

Our Christmas tree all sorts of old fancy jewelry - including quite old Bleigieß hollow-figurine. In a book specifically about Christmas decorations I have read that these were once used as a lead figurine jewelry before they lost to New Year's Eve and melted down to interpretation were. The figures are still in the original box - this is the label of the box:
drawn the figures are melted in the spoon and poured into water. The resulting figures to interpret with wit and humor
The sticker is on a bright red box lid, measuring 21.5 cm x 12.5 cm.
lid of the box and bag of money lead with notes saying
The box contents: a melting spoon, and 10 different hollow lead figurines. In some still a tiny Papierzettelchen infected with a spell. The instructions on the label stating that the figures should be drawn. Thus, then each of them a special award will be allocated.
look inside the box
are the lucky figures: a barrel with a tap, a money bag marked "TOTO-luck", a beer tankard , a monkey, a boot, a lucky, lucky pig, a man's head with a hat, a bell . And a bowl of flowers and a bird

here with a note saying in the close-up:
Spruchzettelchen
In our family it is the custom on New Year's lead to water. It's great fun to interpret the self-cast products. Sometimes that is not easy and you have to rotate it around a piece of lead cooled first, and contact and the Upside down and then look at it more in the forward position ... A candle does not only with the molten lead but the lead interpreting valuable service: with it, a shadow thrown against a wall and hey presto - already it is clear which symbol have cast us.

printi and tutorial Christmas wrapping paper rolls with nostalgic artwork

I offer here some homemade printi with a small tutorial. For the printi I scanned old scraps, scaled and merged. All wrapping paper rolls have a white background - they can also be printed on pastel-colored printer paper.

tiny gingerbread house made of paper - Miniatures 1:12

As a child I had many years to get to Christmas the dream a gingerbread house. This dream I fulfilled my dollhouse inhabitants: they have been around for two years a tiny gingerbread house made of paper.

I've made as part of an online competition advertised in America. The winner is my mini-house paper an honorary award for the world's Most of those voting if the votes for the 1st, 2nd and 3 Place added . Very, very many thanks to all who nominated and voted in my house for me!

The basic shape of the house that were available floor space, part of a fence, and three different size cones for the trees specified - in the design and choice of material of the imagination and creativity, no boundaries were set.
gingerbread house made of paper - side view with a mini garden, wood pile, Backhaus left and well in the background right
I opted for a slightly alpine-inspired version and with fabulous embellishments - such as the gingerbread on the fence with signs saying "Hansel and Gretel" worked. In addition to the gingerbread house - it's completely out of paper and all details are specially cut and pasted - I still have a tiny back houses and a round draw well - both also made of paper - added and a pile of wood (real wood!).
gingerbread house - the entire plan view of the scene on the box
My idea was to put the gingerbread house scene on a box or a box lid. Thus, the entire scene sits on a specially-built box lid. The cover has a slightly sculpted surface: on a gentle hill made with dried moss grow fir trees, the witch's house is on the diagonal, are behind the back house and a wood pile and the side nestles a miniature garden with a fenced Zäunchen. At the front of the cottage is a round a well.

The box containing the electrical equipment: the cottage has a fireplace inside (surface area about 3 x 3 mm) and can be illuminated. And the back house can also be illuminated. In addition, I have a smoke system (also works on a battery) placed inside the box. Then escapes through the chimney smoke!

How To Get Soap Crum Of Shower Doors

Tutorial: Christmas decorations - Holy Family in a gilded nutshell

Hello to you all in the pre-Christmas bloggers country

last year I was on a Some flea markets, and I also captured some craft treasures. From this I have Christmas decorations made themselves: the Holy Family gilded in a nutshell. I am writing this post a little tutorial on this tiny Christmas nativity scene.

Tutorial: tiny nativity scene in nutshell
If you want to rework it, here is the material list:
material for the nativity scene in a nutshell
  • The hissing gold - a "phony" gold leaf - I have original old goods bought at a flea market. Even the cover picture alone on the envelope is enchanting. There are also modern phony gold leaf. For the initial shooting you need a soft, dry brush
The fake gold leaf in the envelope Nahaufaufnahme
  • a Craft glue liquid (I used white glue) for applying an old brush
  • the Holy Family with Mary, Joseph, gave the baby Jesus in a manger and a very tiny star with comet-tail it to another flea market. The figures are made of light plastic and beautifully marked. Each figurine has a kind of spike for mounting. Practically, a pair of tweezers to place the figures
The figures for the crib in detail
  • fresh walnuts - as large as possible and a nutcracker
  • about half Teaspoon of gypsum and a sip of water and a small mixing container and a Kunststoffeislöffel or similar
  • water colors, water and fine brush
  • a good magnifying glass
  • Bouillon wire as desired
instructions for the tiny Christmas tree ornaments with the nativity scene

First, a large walnut cracked clean. Both halves of the walnut must remain intact. Then you need to make the meal tasty walnuts to eat. If you have strengthened you can go on.

The outer sides of two halves are coated with white glue and then the gold leaf with a large soft brush made out of the packaging placed on the nutshell, and be removed carefully. After initial shooting - that's called this process - should the gilded walnut halves to rest and dry. If ye have time for coffee or tea ...
A nut is already half finished gold

After drying, the nut halves turned. The inside is now visible. The figures are tentatively held in the halves - to see how much space is needed for them. The upper part of the inside pages and the edges are gilded as the outsides. Again leave to dry.

After the plaster is mixed according to instructions (only fill the water in a small bowl, then sprinkle the plaster quickly we finally mix thoroughly). The stirred plaster must be processed quickly because otherwise it will be and then not finish for our purposes can be. About the lower quarter of each half nut shell is filled to the brim with the plaster nutshell. The surface must be removed while not smooth - it looks prettier when the surface is somewhat irregular.
bonding with plaster filled nut shell halves
The plaster must now - so dry. Just before this is completed, the figures with the tweezers into the still soft plaster are pressed. If the plaster is still soft, then the figures to sink deep into the plaster. The figures placed around the way on the photo:
The Holy Family is already collected in the shells
The comet tail stars are fixed at this stage already. The baby Jesus is in the gypsum bed down at the front in the middle been.

The all must now dry for very long and very thorough. After drying, please check whether the figures keep it. After that is painted: the plaster surface of nut brown with a watery, the Holy Family with the typical colors:
The left half is painted already partially
to dry after painting again. Now still embraces to taste and discretion Bouillon wire and a hook to be fixed:
pre-painted nativity scenes - right already with a hanger and provided with fine gold wire wound

At Christmas sees it like this:
